It's a bit tongue in cheek but there is no reason for Ag not to jump ahead of other commercial sectors in fleet electrification. Recent acquisitions and investments in electric tractor startups and signals from major players set the stage for rapid growth and Ag is not bound by some of the limitations that constrain other sectors:
Where commercial fleets require the deployment of new electrical services to scale, farms with electrical irrigation pumps and/or solar generation can support rapid electrification with existing infrastructure.
The density of charging infrastructure required to support trucking routes is not an issue for a fleet of tractors operating on a farm, especially with the option of swappable batteries.
